Hilton Islington Hotel London
One of the most luxurious Hilton hotels we stayed in was their Islington location because it offered the largest room (we treated ourselves to a suite upgrade!) and most modern selection without feeling like we were tourists trapped in a business hotel.
On the northern side of London, the Islington provides pounds (pun intended) of luxury amongst its 184 rooms and suites. The area of Islington is a well-kept secret that I am letting slip. It is not as touristy and very hip with trendy boutiques and an amazing global marketplace of bars, restaurants and cafes. Let’s just say that my husband and I ate and drank ourselves silly on this trip. Additionally, it’s only about two miles to city center and right next to such delights as the Arsenal football club, the London Dungeon, and the National Gallery (as an artsy fartsy museum nut, I had to mention that!).
The hotel is really chic with new carpet and furnishings that cannot be more than a couple of years old, 24-hour room service, flat screen televisions in the rooms, daily replenished upscale toiletries, piles of plush towels, and wonderful air conditioning. The overall mood of the hotel is accommodating, peaceful, and friendly. Read more »
